The Miracle With The Bucket

Sometimes I have to giggle at how God answers prayers. This morning was one of them.

Sometimes I have to giggle at how God answers prayers. This morning was one of them.

When I went out at 5:20 a.m. to feed the herd and birds, I noticed an upside-down bucket in the chicken courtyard that had not been there when I closed things up last evening.

You see, I had one of my prize Lakenvelder hens get out of the chicken pen when I was closing things up. I tried, unsuccessfully, to catch her and put her back. She had another agenda….to roost in the tree tops or on top of the barn.

I was fearful for her safety as Biscuit and Gravy (the Great Pyrenees pups) are still learning boundaries and will chase anything that moves. And, then we still have lots of predators who enjoy frequenting the chicken coops.

Hopeless, I left her out in the trees, and headed to the house. I started to pray, “God protect this bird through the night.”

SO, when I went out to feed this morning, I noticed this upside-down bucket in the area just outside the chicken pens and coops. I went over to pick up the bucket, and what should be under the bucket……my prize chicken, safe and sound!

I really did giggle out loud. God had answered my prayers about this hen and placed a bucket over her for her protection and safety. She’s safely back in the pen with the other Lakenvelders.

How did this hen get UNDER a bucket? One answer…..the hand of God!

Something so simple as placing a bucket over a hen parallels with how God puts his protective arms around each one of us……every single day…..if we ask and believe.

I’m claiming that He’ll put a bucket of safety and blessings over me today.

Are you claiming that too?
